1990 honda accord no horn or cruise power
I have 1990 honda accord with 357k miles, we recently had some flooding, but i always avoid puddles that i wouldnt be able to walk through and not get my feet wet. I noticed the cruise control wont light up or work and then i noticed the horn had no power. i checked fuses and had one bad one under the hood for the horn but it still doesnt work after replacing with a good fuse. the cruise control fuse was fine but niether are working. does anyone have any pointers on what i could check?

RE: 1990 honda accord no horn or cruise power
I had no luck finding a relay or manual for the horn or cruise control relays. I get no power to either, there is usually a green light that lights up when u turn on the power for the cruise control, and then a second light on the dash that lights when you set the cruise. I checked under the hood fuse/relay box and dont see a relay for either. anyone have any idea where that would be?[/i]

RE: 1990 honda accord no horn or cruise power
There is no relay for the horn.. it gets its power from fuse number 25 , a 20smp fuse located in the under hood fuse box.
the power then goes through the horns and then to the clock spring then to the horn switch that sends it to ground to complete the circuit.
The cruise controls powered from fuse number 4 this is a 7.5 fuse located in the under dash box.Check the lt green or bl/red wires for an open circuit.

RE: 1990 honda accord no horn or cruise power
Hello again, Ive had time to take a look at the fuses. i replaced any bad ones. Now my horn and cruise control work periodically, sometimes the horn works and the cruise doesnt, sometimes the cruise works and the horn doesnt. sometimes they both work at the same time but rarely. once in awhile when the cruise works, it will set, but i cant adjust it up or down it will just maintain the speed i set it at. i first thought it was the buttons had bad contacts but the horn is doin the same thing. any ideas would be appreciated!

Also i have checked all the wires i can get to, for the horn and cruise. Is there some sort of component that would cause this to happen. lately i have been getting the cruise and horn to work more frequently.

The only thing that these two circuit have in common is the clock spring(slip ring) under
the steering wheel.
