2002 ford escape coil over plug
I have a 2002 ford escape V-6 with coil over plug. Is there any special procedures I need to know about, when I change the spark plugs? Thanks, fstf2v

I reccomend putting anti-sieze on the spark plug threads and di-electric grease on the tips of the plugs or inside the plug boots.

Re: 2002 ford escape coil over plug
Tell me if this repair will work long term. This Escape came from the auction with one of the coil hold down bolts missing( #5 under the intake). As I removed the intake I could see a broken bolt in the top of the valve cover and a sponge jammed on the top of the coil, maybe to keep the coil snug on the plug.
Repair= I drilled a small hole into the brass insert in the valve cover and srewed a brass screw to hold the coil snug in place. After replacing all the parts it seems to run fine. Does anybody have any opinions on this repair?
THANKS Guys- fstf2v

As long as thye screw you installed will stay tight, you will be OK.

Re: 2002 ford escape coil over plug
The reason for a brass screw(I thought) if it snaps, easy to drill and with composite(plastic ?) valve covers the screw should break before going threw it. :?: Is it possible to glue, epoxy or maybe melt these kind of valve covers? I haven't had too yet, I was just curious. Thanks, fstf2v
