1995 Dodge Intrepid No-Start
Just trying to help the neighbor guy out. Has 1995 Dodge/Chrysler Intrepid that has been giving him grief the last few days it seems. Sometimes the car will start and run just fine and other times, it will go into some kind of trance. (LOL) It will start up and quit instantly. start and quit, over and over. The headlights will start to flash and stay flashing for about 2-3 mins after trying to get the car to start up. Tried disconnecting the battery for an hour and then reconnecting. Have not changed the battery but will do if that is the issue. Did take another wire from Neg. post and ground it to the body of the car thinking it was a bad ground or something but that does not seem to be the problem. Thinking alarm system? does this car have an antitheft system built in? If so what could be triggering it? The thing that is stumping me is it is not all the time. Sometimes he will jump in start it up and drive off like nothing, and other times it will leave him stranded like this. Any thoughts?

Re: 1995 Dodge Intrepid No-Start
I noticed a "command start" unit in this car and unplugged/disconnected it completely but am now beginning to suspect that the unit may not have been installed by a "professional". Seems those things are sometimes tempermental if I remember correct. Where is the body control module? If it was this thing though wouldn't re-setting the "brain" by disconnecting the battery for a few hours not "reset" it? Also if I were to plug in a scan tool would there be any codes for anything related to this? Thanks for the reply. The search continues.......... [smilie=pdt_att.gif]
