97 Expedition P0302
The wife's truck started a misfire and is giving me a P0302. I changed the coil and plug with no change. So I replaced the injector, same code-same symptoms. Is there a way to test injector pulse without a noid light? or am i going the wrong way with this?

The only other way that I am sure of without a noid light is to do a pin-out on the pcm. Which this could eliminate other causes too, just takes longer.

Re: 97 Expedition P0302
This is the 5.4 right? The code 302 is for the #2 coil, 2nd one back on the passenger side. Is this the only code you retrieved from the EEC? no PO351 or PO356 or PO357 ?
To do a test on the pulse you can use a LED test light. Although an eight set of NOID lights are only around $10, that you can pick up at most parts stores.
Check Resistance from coil pin coil driver to the spring and from the coil pin B positive to the coil spring. resistance 4k and 10k . also check the boot , for damage , spark could be jumping from the boot .
To do a PID test, It is pin number 101-at Key on engine off should read 0
a hot idle should read 3.2 to 4.0
You can get these values from reading live DATA from your scan tool , depending on what type of scan tool you have.

Re: 97 Expedition P0302
ALright then I need some clarification here. I thought the block order was

7 |-------| |------| 8
5 |------| |------| 6
3 |-------| |------| 4
1 |-------| |-------| 2
passenger driver

So I've been replacing the components on the front driver side. Did i do a big oops?

No Ford is 1-2-3-4 on the passenger side
and 5-6-7-8 on the driver side.

Nah, I'm alright. It's not very often that I get the DOTD award, so I guess when I do win it, I'll take it in stride

BTW I did end up replacing the coil and plug in the #2 cylinder, and the truck is running fine now. Thanks for the help
