97 Ford Expedition Electrical
97 Ford Expedition 5.4 Triton auto 4x4. I have had this in and out of the shop on several occasions from security issues to bad or burnt grounds. Have replaced the ecm, fixed the grounds, repaired vaccum lines to the 4 wheel units, scanned it several times to have it return once again due to the 4x4 light coming on and then the truck dying. The radio and blower sometimes stays on and other times is fine. About to pull whats left of my hair out. Help me before all my hair is gone.

What DTAC do you have, should have B codes.. Your problem might be located in the GEM .
The GEM controls both the accessory relays and the 4 wheel electronic shift.

I came to the conclusion that you are probably right on the GEM module. Have had security issues, window and got a VSS code pulled. Now the fun is finding one reasonable for the customer and getting it programmed. I also decided to replace the fuse block because I found traces of moisture when removed. Will keep you posted as soon as I finish it up. Thanks jgate.

Well, I sent the car to dealership to have GEM programmed and was told the windshield leaks and when the GEM gets wet it will act up. Said the GEM in the truck didnt need reprogrammed. So now I wait for a rainy day or wait for customer to put in windshield.
