91 LUMINA EURO FUEL INJECTORS NOT FIRING/PULSING 124,000 MI.
One day the car started chugging and within half mile, Died. Would not restart. Veh. Description:91 Chev. Lumina Euro. 3.1 V-6 3-spd. auto.
I replaced crank pickup sensor, Ignition module and coil pack,I.A.C. valve,Checked fuses, swapped out working used E.C.M., Checked wiring and pigtails, Has 40psi. at fuel rail, 145psi. approx.+-5psi. compression. Good even spark. Will fire up momentarily on Ether.
I figured out that the fuel injectors are not pulsing or firing. So I assume that my injectors are not allowing fuel to the engine. What causes this?
Upon breakdown, My first thought was that my ignition module failed. Now I have spark but no fuel in the engine. Is there a fuel injection relay? A fuel injection module to fail besides the E.C.M? I'm at a loss now. This is my only form of transportation. In shops my bosses and I thought myself a good or at least decent mechanic, Up til now, I have not been stumped before. I don't give up. THAT"S A PLUS!
Can all my injectors go bad at once?
I don't have shopkey5 or all data to reference anymore.

Is the used ECM the correct ECM? I have seen this problem before. Thought it was same due to same engine, but it wasn't.

Another thought is, did you check to see if there is a fuel injector fuse on this car? If it has blown then you wont have fire on the injectors.

Keep us posted.

91 Lumina
I'm with driver540 on this one. Are you sure you have enough fuel pressure? I'm not sure on yours, but some engines need higher pressure. Have you changed the fuel filter recently? Wouldn't hurt to do that anyway.

Hope this helps. Keep in touch.

Looks like his pressure is good harvester.

FUEL PRESSURE:
Ignition ON Engine OFF 40.5 to 47.0 psi
With Regulator Vacuum Applied [1] 3.0 - 10.0 psi Less than Ignition ON Engine OFF

BEING WAY2OLD IS WHY I NEED HELP FROM YOUNGER MINDS.

from my experience, when a car runs out of gas it really means that when the pump sucked up those last few drops of gas it also sucked up any gunk that was in the bottom of the tank. The fuel injectors should be replaced because its probably part of your problem.
