Ok so here is my most favorite Autozone story..and trust me after six years working with the public it is pretty good..sad part is , I was in the middle of it, go figure. :roll:

Anyway, I have changed battery terminal ends before on my sisters explorer..well being as the cables were fairly big so to make things quick I snipped her ends off with bolt cutters. It worked quite nicely, all I had to do was skin the ends, tuck them into the terminals and bolt em down.

Well having this new skill under my belt I did not hesitate when an older gentleman walked in and needed some help with battery trouble. I went out to have a look under the hood (of a little purple geo metro), and after testing the battery I also found the terminal ends to be quite rusted I suggested that he change them out and that I could do it for him.
He agreed, so I headed in to the store to gather up the cutters and some new terminal ends. Back outside the gentleman was sitting in the vehicle waiting on me to get the job done. So there I was preparing to cut the ends off of the old wire and fix up some new ones, one of my trusty fellow employess at my side even being so helpful as to hold a cable so I could snip it off and another standing beside me for moral support and idle chitchat. :roll:
Luckily the wire was a little smaller than the one of my sisters truck (hey yeah did I mention I am a bit of a dingbat? lol ) but anyhoo I had a lil trouble lining it up and cutting it..good thing though because another customer came out behind me and asked me what I was doing to his car??
I stopped in mid snip and looked him dead in the eye as my coworkers headed for the safety of the store totally deserting me, laughed and said "yeah right", then turned back to start on the cables again. He then went to the man in the car and asked him to remove himself from it...which he did. :shock:
He then came back to me again and asked me to stop cutting on his car that he DID NOT need new terminal ends and this was HIS car.
You would think by now I would be apologizing like crazy and leaving this mans car alone wouldn't you? But noooooo I look at him again and laugh and then slap him on the arm and said "aww your joking and actually yeah you do need new terminal ends."
He was pretty ticked by this time and in a very unhappy tone once again informes me that this is HIS car and to please get away from it. :x
Well by this time I finally get enough sense to look at the elderly gentleman that had told me this was his car and say "sir...where is YOUR car?" He stands looking a lil confused and then points out a green ford escort wagon.
Ahhh yes that part of the story broke my heart because he had alzheimers and was confused and had come in for a battery test but led me back out to the wrong car. I had to call in a city officer to get him help getting back home.
I ended up apologizing a LOT to the gentleman with the geo...but ya know, had he kept quiet, he would have gotten those terminal ends for free...after all he really did need em, I swear! :lol:

That's a great one Ford Gal! Kinda scary about the driver's license aspect though...

Thanks TAC..yeah that was scary indeed.

I am sure if I stopped to think about it there are tons of stories I could tell from over the years between there and working in the service dept of a Ford dealership. lol
One that stands out that ticked me off the most was a guy who came in one time and saw me changing wiper blades on a car in the parking lot and when I came in he jokingly (or so I thought) made the remark that I would need something to stand on to change the blades on his truck. (I am short 5'0) he has a full sized 4X4 with a lift on it as well.
Well a couple days later I was back in my office and I heard him ask where the little redhead gal was so I stepped out front..my mouth about hit the floor when he said he brought his truck up to have wiper blades put on and he brought me a milk crate to stand on! Heck of it was, HE REALLY DID! :shock: I am thinking what a... well I was thinken...better not say just what I was thinken here... :twisted:
I pretty much told him that I was not available to help him at the time and sent one of our counter employess out to do it for him. Ahh the nerve of some people. :roll:

Really! How inconsiderate of him .Why you could have pulled muscule or something trying to reach those wipers from a milk crate. A woman of your stature [smilie=pdt_apl.gif] should been offered a stepladder to say the least . Au huh...and I could have isntalled the wipers where he did not WANT them. :twisted: lol

Well ya know, he could have just gotten down on all fours and let me step on HIM... :lol:

I think the proper thing to do would be to put on some heels, use his stupid milkcrate to get up the fender, and stand on the hood while you change the blades.

That'd larn him to be such a smart*ss!

Ya know one of the guys did that one time just jokingly to a customer after I had watched him struggle for about ten minutes with his and walked out to pop them right off and bring them in. lol
One of my fellow employees kinda razzed him about a girl having to help him when he walked in the door...really was not a smart thing to do being as the guy was about 6'4 and really not in a good mood... :shock: He told my buddy that he better rethink being mouthy that early in the morning. :lol:
But anyhoo girl...just for the record, I really don't think it would have fazed this guy at all. :roll:

lmbo..ohh yeah..I am sitting here trying to picture that whole scenario.
