The speedometer cable went out on my 1996 dodge dakota and I need to know where the cable is located...could anyone help????

get under the truck and look towards the back of the tranny there od a cover that the drive shaft goes into it should be in that general areia right or left side it is more than likely that the gears broke or it is just loose check and see if you have to replace it track it down to where it goes in to the truck where the boot it in the body remove that so you can move it you will also have to tear the dash apart to remove it from the speedo panel
