bad car-ma
I did not have a good week last week. Friday morning i was on the way to work, heading down the highway at 60mph, and the engine on my Honda went BOOM! Threw a rod on I-75. So I borrow my mother-in-law's Intrepid that she's trying to get rid of, and the alternator goes out. Later that evening my wife wanted me to go to the store to pick something up and I told her NO! I am not destroying anymore vehicles today.
The alternator is fixed on the Intrepid and I have an engine for the Honda. Hopefully I can get the Civic back on the road quickly

I'm doing the engine swap on the Civic this weekend. I bought a junkyard Civic for $150. When I pull the engine out of the junkyard car, I will replace the following: Water pump, Timing belt and tensioners, valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals, both radiator hoses and belts, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, PCV valve, thermostat and gasket, clutch and flywheel ($235 in parts) Anything I'm missing?

I thought it would be great if I could just get a magic wand and swap the powertrains in a matter of seconds.

Unfortunately her magic wand was "out of pixie dust or something"

bad car-ma/ she's fixed
Mr. Gacyota, how do you pronounce that anyway? i always wonder that Smile . i know about bad carma man! seems like one thing after the other, if we all had thousands of dollars to spend and purchase new vehicles we probably wouldn't deal with it. but then you wouldnt get a chance to use tools either  because we would just take it to the shop for the problems. Thats all nice but where's the fun in that? Sad . I would much rather keep the spice in my life Big Grin . i love greasy hands, the smell of oil, sludge, WD-40, anti-freeze, gas[ if its the right kind  ], and the occasional fix all " Duct-Tape", cant be a handy man without it! .
I envy you to be takin your youngster out, I cant wait to be able to do that, He's only a little over 3 MOS. he came to us just a few days before my father passed. When the family looks at him we can see where the void has filled.

Good luck, Chief Big Grin

You can pronounce it any way you want. I pronounce it gack - yo - tu. It's actually an achronym for Go Ahead Caller You're On The Air (from back in my radio days)
