74' Dodge Dart
I had a 74 dodge dart and it had front end problems (ofcourse  .)
well i had done a bunch of work on it spent a ton of money and time
putting all the new parts on and then it was time for an alignment.
Well being the cheapskate that i am, i ofcourse called around for the best price (knowing it was an old vehicle and would probably be extra to have done.) after a few phone calls with the price being pretty hefty i called
Don Olsens (a pretty big company here in florida.) and the price sounded really good. I had said also that it was a 74' and that i had done all the front end work on it. Oh no problem, they said. Well it was a friday afternoon i took it there and they proceded to do there thing. an hour went by i saw them pull it off the machine drove around the lot and back up on the machine. so went out being nosey to see what was up, and he said he needed to do some more work. Well he messed around about 15 more minutes and i saw him getting frustrated and go and get a higher up to look at it. FOUR GUYS later they said it was done. I paid them got in my car went to pull away and it was squeeling like mad. NOW mind you i drove it up there in better condition. i went in and and made a fuss they tried again to get it right and said well its 5:00 and we can't get it so here's your money back! i was steamed. Friday 5:00, noone else open, missed a whole day at work, and now had a car that barely went down the road, my only mode of transportation. I was so SO mad! having to work the next day on saturday (since it was the weekend i had no other ride but the bus) i needed to get my car right, so i got out the tools and stewed over it about an hour (reading and thinking.) got under the car worked about 15 minutes, took it for a test run, still not right. About another 15 minutes later i took it for another run and it drove like a dream. and all i did was adjust the tie rods on either side, till i thought it looked right.

I was so amased at all the guys at Don Olsen's Garage with there exspensive computer and all the (so called) knowledge and how Me, an average joe who has worked construction most my life did what they could not. Guess they just don't teach em' about the oldies anymore..

After all that, some stupid, no good, non-driving, Idiot with no insurance took a left at a (wet) major intersection and lost control, (said his foot slipped off the clutch. yea right!) He kareemed off the side off my new truck and straight into the front of my dodge. I was in the truck and my ex was following in the car. needless to say i snapped and it was not pretty. After prying the metal away from my tire I actually drove the car away from the site and his truck was totaled and not moving. About the only satisfaction i got from that whole ordeal. All my work had been destroyed. And i never saw a dime from the jerk who did it.

heheh well i am a high school drop out, but i still managed to get it. You would think that if you owned a company with the technology and equipment. You would take better pride in hiring knowleged and reputable people. But you are right, they suck! Don't take your vehicle there. And i really can't give any advice as to where to take it. I find it hard to trust most places anymore. although there are trustworthy places, there hard to find. research will be the key. weither you research prospective mechanics or learn how to do it yourself. (working with consderable skills anyway.) Don't try nothing major if you dont trust yourself ofcourse. don't want to make matters worse. lol just watch out for shady mechanics and deals that sound too good. It could just be a waste of time.
