99 R1500 4wd front hub removal
I can't get this sucker off. I have applied the PB Blaster, heat, BFH, more heat, more pounding and it will not come off. The 3 bolts from the back side have been removed and there is nothing else holding it in there except 10 years of rust. Am I going to have to remove the spindle and get a press on this hub or is there a trick I'm missing?

Is this a chevy "K" 1500?If so I assume you have the half shaft nut off as well as the 3 bolts. Smack the half shaft stub inwards tll loose ,carefull with threads. Now take an air chisel an burp at the seam of the hub try several spots it will move !

Its a Dodge Ram1500, sorry about the incomplete info. Same setup though, take axle nut loose and 3 bolts in back of it and it 'should' come off. This one will not come off in the usual manner. I hate rust!!! I attempted again tonight and put a slide hammer to it and STILL not coming off. I'm about to cut the ball joints off and beat em out from the back end.

The axle MUST be able to slide in/out. If ta dont have an air chisel a big cold chisel and a Bmf HAMMER, HIT HARD AS YOU CAN on the seam will force it apart. saying a few choice words wont help BUT will make u feel better.

I've got the axle loose from the splines in the hub. The hub is frozen to the spindle. I cant break it free. I've used almost a whole can of PB Blaster on this thing, I'll probly need to get a new bottle of gas now and the BMFH has been used as well as the not so pleasant words. It's very upsetting

it ALMOST got to that point. It finally came off after some air hammering at just the right angle. I cleaned inner part of spindle before i put new bearing in. Everything went together smoothly. Removal was just a pain in my... everything :!: :!: :!:
