HELP, 93 Civic won't start (amongst other things)
Hey everyone, Imma newbie here and also to mechanics, but all help is appreciated.
I have a 1993 Honda Civic EX, manual transmission, and have only had it less then a month. Today it is no longer able to start, which is probably my fault, since it has had some problems that I had kept procrastinating on fixing. The first MAJOR problem is that it overheats. I think it is a radiator leak, simply because I add anti freeze everymorning and some of the radiator sealent, and that solves the problem.
Then what started to happen is it would idle really hard, make a lot of noise and shake, and if I didn't give it gas when it was stopped, it would stall. Also I would have to press the gas all the way down when taking off, and the car would slowly catch up, like there was a delay in the gas getting to where it needs to go.
Now when I start the car, I had to pump the gas and keep turning the key to get it to start. Now the battery is dead. Any suggestions to possible problems. If it sounds like a complicated issue, please explain, that way I can go to the mechanic's with some sort of knowledge on the issue. THANKS!!!

Well, based on what you've told us, I'd say you may need a new fuel pump to start with, but there are definately some other problems that need to be addressed. Let us now how it goes.

Hi,

Do you get a puddle of rad fluid, (where is it going?)
I would find out that for sure first. If it is a head gask or maybe worse depending on how long it's been that way, aluminum heads crack with
too much heat and cylinders don't like long time coolant leaks.
People tend to sell their problems to someone else.
Sorry to be so neg but I would hate to hear you spent a bunch
on the car and then find out. BUT it may only be a minorish prob,
hope so and GL, bruce

thanks
Thanks for all the advice. I think I am going to take to the mechanic and have them look at the fuel pump and radiator. I dont get a puddle of fluid under the car though, but I am sure there is a crack or leak on the radiator. Thanks again, any suggestions for a mechanic in the FTL/MIA area??

RE: HELP, 93 Civic won't start (amongst other things)
first the reason why the car won't start it is because of dead battery or faulty wiring. maybe since the battery was dead, try first to recharge the battery. if this won't work, try to check the wiring. this is the repair shop that i recommend to you. this is the miami auto repair shops 911 Auto Service located at 9470 NW 13th St, Miami. or you can refer to automd site for more the lists of all auto repair shops in miami. just check out the find shop tab to see the full list. hope that this may helped.
