For those who dont know me
I am relatively new here too. I am a tech, trained at UTI and the Mercedes Benz factory school. I am currently trying to get a performance engine building business going, as that is my passion. I like giving advice to people here, as they always seem to be getting screwed when they take it to their local Hammerclaws repair shop. Hope I can be helpful to those who want to get their own hands dirty.

Welcome
Hi roughneck, glad to have you on the forum. It will be interesting to read about repairing the high end cars. Hope you have a sense of humor as you might need it with this "crew"... btw maybe you could tell crank.it how to push a mercedes so he doesn't have to drive his overheating chevy truck  See you in the posts. Welcome aboard Roughneck - sorry it took me so long to hand out the welcomes!

A question (just because I'm curious) - Do you have to go through a separate certification to get qualifications on the AMG engines, or is that part of the standard MB program?

No, the AMG motor is the same design, just different cams and such (and a blower added to some). The AMG vehicles are great. I got to drive two SL55's and one E55. Imagine a four door sedan that runs 12.5 off the showroom floor! One of the SL's belonged to the owner of the Indianapolis Speedway. Excellent car. I also worked on Jermaine O'Neals G500. I love the G wagon as well.
