I thought I'd post this just to enlighten some of our more Football challenged visitors.

NFL: New England Patriots Score Convincing Win Over Buffalo Bills
VOA Sports
27 Dec 2003, 23:03 UTAC

The National Football League's New England Patriots have secured home field advantage throughout the playoffs with a convincing win over the Buffalo Bills, 31-0, in the final regular season game for both teams.

• Record and seed: 14-2, No. 1.

• What have you done for me lately?: Franchise-record 12-game winning streak, and 14-1 since opening-day loss at Buffalo.

• Difference maker on offense: QB Tom Brady did not throw an interception at home this season, in 241 attempts. He is now 37-12 (.755) as a starter in the NFL.

• Difference maker on defense: LB Tedy Bruschi led a Patriots defense that allowed just one touchdown and five field goals (22 points overall) in its last six home games.

• Did you know?: The Patriots went undefeated at home this season for the first time in the franchise's 44-year history.

• Most recent playoff appearance: Won Super Bowl in 2001 as No. 2 seed.

• Head coach's playoff record: Bill Belichick is 4-1, with Cleveland and New England.

• And another thing ... The Patriots are just the second team since the 1970 merger to end the regular season with a winning streak of 12 or more games. The 1972 Miami Dolphins of perfect-season fame were the other team

T.Titans....
Quote:A potent mix of personnel, planning and perspective have added up to four playoff appearances in the past five years for the Tennessee Titans, who have the AFC's best overall record (56-24, tied with St. Louis for best in the NFL) over that span. With their 12-4 mark -- good for the conference's top wild card this season -- they have established themselves as more than just a one-hit wonder that provided some unforgettable postseason drama in 1999.
"When you start out the season, your goal is to get to the playoffs," Olson said. "I think we're confident that we can go anywhere and play anywhere and beat anyone in this league."

Food for thought

Shade !

Are you just about to start bragging about my Tennessee Titans?

Please don't start another war here. Me and Crank are both getting too old for the fight.

The Titans have done pretty well, but sometimes they scare me by barely pulling it out in the last minute.

I don't know if they may end up playing the Patriots or not, but that would be a killer game. You guys will have to bring me up to speed on where all of your teams are in the rankings. I missed everything last week and really didn't get to see many of the regular season games at all, but I really get excited about the playoffs.

I really don't have a single favorite team...I just love the game!
Now, NASCAR is a whole different story.
