New car care
My first try at this. I'll try to be short. Purchased a new car, V8 with 320 hp engine and only 150 miles on it. My friend took it for a test drive, popped the cluch at around 2000 rpm and ran the engine to 5000 rpm. Could this done some damage to the engine and other components? :?

drag racer
Hi topcatcar, Yes damage is being done by driving the car that way. Accellerating to 5000rpm is kinda high but popping the clutch at 2000rpm is very bad. Sounds to me like he likes to dragrace by his driving style and if you want your car to stay healthy for a long time keep him in the passenger seat and don't let him drive. We had a fiero towed back to the dealer with 25 miles on the clock and the clutch was gone. He might have done the same thing or even a higher speed. Just my 2 cents worth. Bill
