belt adjustment 1993 chrysler 5th ave 1belt system has 3.3.
In my repair manual it says there is an adjustment bolt on the alternator. There Isn't, auto parts store says front idler is spring loaded and moves when loosened it doesn't.Just did head job on car had mostly torn down and never saw any adjustment areas please help mama wants her car back. : thanks 4 the advice guys that bolts a bear 2 get 2.

There are two different 3.3 engines. The R code engine, uses an automatic spring, loaded belt tensioner; T code engine uses a slider bolt on the alternator.
Check the 8th digit of the VIN number to confirm.
If yours is the R code engine; you should be able to put a wrench on the center bolt of the tensioner and then rotate the wrench clockwise to loosen the belt. Let go of the wrench and the tesioner should spring back and I mean spring back. If the tensioner isn’t seized, it’ll throw the wrench across the shop. LOL

thanks for the diagram. this is kinda helpful in my repair. i've been looking for the answer for chrysler repair questions about the two different 3.3 engines.
