There are two different 3.3 engines. The R code engine, uses an automatic spring, loaded belt tensioner; T code engine uses a slider bolt on the alternator.
Check the 8th digit of the VIN number to confirm.
If yours is the R code engine; you should be able to put a wrench on the center bolt of the tensioner and then rotate the wrench clockwise to loosen the belt. Let go of the wrench and the tesioner should spring back and I mean spring back. If the tensioner isnât seized, itâll throw the wrench across the shop. LOL
