Introduction
Hello gentlemen, I'm a 51 year old female (I act much younger, much to the chagrin of my kids!) and have always been somewhat mechanically inclined, but never got training. I signed up for a powder puff mechanics course, but it was cancelled because of lack of interest. So I signed up for a regular mechanics course (Technical college night classes), but it was cancelled because of lack of interest. Anyway I'd rather change oil than do dishes, and I try to help my husband do the considerable repairs on my 2 work vans, each having a gazillion miles on them, and I pick up a thing or two. My husband gets irritated when something has him stumped and I run down to the auto parts store and ask them if they know anything about it. They usually do, but I shouldn't ask because ALL men should know these things. He's pretty handy though, thank GOD, because repairs would have run us into the poor house by now.

Well Hello srpackard!

Glad to have you aboard with us Big Grin .
Yeah I have once in awhile felt like I should know these things but HEY when the car is sitting there and won't run and I'm stumped  , ya just gotta ask someone who knows  .
I think alot of us that answer questions here may secretly have been in that position a few times so we try and help others through this forum.

So anyway feel free to answer any of the questions you may know. Or ask a few yourself and we will try our best to answer them Smile .

Once again WELCOME!

Huckleberry Finn
Maybe it's not that he doesn't know how to fix it, maybe he just doesn't want to so he pretends he doesn't know.

I must confess, I've done that from time to time when driving. We get sort of off the beaten trail, and I'm not entirely sure how to get back to the highway, so when my wife says "stop and ask for directions" I pretend I know for a bit, then finally pull over so she can run in and ask.

When she comes back I tell her that since she has the directions now, she can drive - and I take a nap in the passenger seat for a couple hours.
