pothole capital
Now we are in the correct forum  .The topic was potholes , well on a recent vacation from the glorious state of FLORIDA 8) to the land of tundra and perma frost, Maine. Actually for me Nothern States is anything north of GA line. Anywho- we here have potholes , up yonder yall have craters that can swallow compacts   .Whilst driving (bouncing) down the interstate in upstate PENN-slo-VAINIA .I thought cars were vanishing in front of me  . They were falling into your POTHOLES. Lucky for me I was able to drive over their roof tops  .REALLY

Up here in NY state, our potholes are ORGANIC.

This fall I found two lumps pushing up the macadem of my driveway until they broke through and created potholes. They appeared over a 3 or 4 day stretch this fall.

A little digging into the what was left ofthe macadem underneath, and I found MUSHROOMS. OK, not mushrooms with caps, but some sort of fungus-like mushroomy stuff. The driveway has been down for 4 years or so, and suddenly out of the blue these things are growunp and underneath it, stronge enough to push up 3 inches or so and break the surface open.

Maybe they were truffles or something? Should I have tried to sell them to a restaurant?

We do not worry about pot holes here.. All you got to do is open another bottle of bourbon and you never know it. [smilie=pdt_alc.gif] [smilie=pdt_bot.gif] [smilie=pdt_gost.gif] If you drink enough, you can swerve and miss the pot holes. Just the other drivers you gotta watch out for. [smilie=pdt_nzd.gif]

I am a victim of a pothole. I went to get lunch today and there was a big@$$ pothole at some railroad tracks. Blew a hole in the sidewall of my right front (luckily rim is ok).  [smilie=pdt_mad3.gif] [smilie=pdt_mad3.gif] I put the donut tire on and IT had no air. Luckily I was right across the street from gas station and was able to put air in the spare and get back to work (wasted lunch hour)

In my neck of the woods, our potholes get fixed fairly quickly.
Arnold must be doing something right.
