Leaky Heater Core in Fiat Ducato
1195 Fiat Ducato 2.5 liter Diesel Engine. 180,000 kilometers. About a month ago we started getting a wet spot on the floor under the heater core. The liquid tastes sweet so I think it's probably coolant. I would like to inspect the heater core, but I'm not sure how to get at it. Can you help me?

RE: Leaky Heater Core in Fiat Ducato
okay try this one, i just find this from my research since i want to help you with your problem,

don't do this if don't have any knowledge.

The heater matrix on all of the peugeot/fiat/citroen, ducato type shape is the same up to 2002 at least.
It can burst but it can also leak through the o ring seal assembly that holds the header pipes in place (you will see these protrude into the engine bay). Try a leakstopper first because its a nightmare to replace.
To remove the heater, the fascia parts have to be disassembled from the dash, the plastic dash has to be pulled forward with considerable force and the heater assembly has to be unbolted at 3 points then forced down and to the nearside to extract. (Move ECU from behind gearstick and the loom first)
Took two of us a day. Next time I'd buy the proper manual from fiat for £70. If you are brave, an alternative is to cut a hole in the bulkhead under the wiper motor, beside where the heater connections are over the engine. The unit should then slip in and out without touching the dash at all I reckon. Im going to do this before I reassemble the whole job.
AEP sell a replacement for around £70 at your door which seems as good as the Fiat £140 version. If I get the cutout sorted I will take a picture with dimensions and post later. Dont take on the dash blindly! And the modern dash is very different to the pre 2002 one (square headlights). I found that the online instructions didnt apply. Also cheap or free manuals dont help at all. Steer clear.

if you need some fiat tsb info, just go to automd.
