windstar struts
Help me!! I have taken the old struts out of my Windstar, changed the springs onto the new struts, but can't get them back in! The top 3 bolts go on in the strut tower, but the bottom is a clamp-type fit, into the top of the steering knuckle. The thing is on jack-stands in the driveway, and I was using a floor jack under the lower ball joint to position the clamp onto the strut. It always goes off-center. Any ideas???[/i][/b]

hi johnny-you probably have the spring in the wrong way...make sure the rubber is seated in its correct position on the top and bottom then use that as a guide to put on the spring making sure the ends of the spring match the rubber...then let the arm fall free(no jack)put the strut in the bottom first then jack the arm and strut into the top holes ....crank.it

RE: windstar struts
Check the suspension turret top of Struts, and / or lower suspension arm bushings anchor / pivot ball suspension Low. Tightening the nuts on the steering box mounted on the cross. hope this will help you to do your Ford Windstar repair.
