MOVING FROM WARM TEMPS TO COLD TEMPS
I HAVE A 93 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH 47K ORIGINAL MILES IN EXECELLENT SHAPE. I HAVE LIVED IN FLORIDA AND WILL BE MOVING TO MINNESOTA WITH EXTREME COLD TEMPS. DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO THE CAR TO MAKE SURE THE COLD TEMPS DON'T HURT THE CAR? I ALSO WILL BE TRAVELING THROUGH MOUNTAIN RANGES DO I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE CAR STALLING OUT ON ME? ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN GIVE ME WOULD BE SO HELPFUL
THANKS
MARLYN

Trade it for a snowmobile maybe ? Are you crazy? A floridian in minn. you'll freeze to death, if the polar bears don't get to you first.    Just kidding , off the top i would say have oil changed to proper weight for expected temps ,the lube shop will know that. Have fresh antifreeze at proper strength.Again the lube shop will know. Your eng has sensors that compensate for alt and temp changes. Maybe some of the northen guys can add their knowledge. Tires? Chains? Emergency kit?

Reverse Retirement
Being from Iowa before i moved to Florida, the oil and antifreeze change is a must. also put in new fresh washer fluid, full strenth to help prevent freezing. When you get farther up get a can of lock deicer and keep it in your purse or pocket, never know when it will get cold enought to freeze up there. Have fun in the snow, I'll keep golfing year round.
