Safety question
I have a 2001 JGCL and the drivers side wheel is whinning as I pick up speed. I am pretty sure it is the hub assembly. It does not whine all the time, maybe every other trip and then it goes away sometimes.

Here is my question:

I have to drive to North Carolina from Maryland (7 hours total to and from) would it be safe to drive since I cannot get it fixed until I return? What could happen?

you know the answer
what do you want someone to say?
you belive you have a wheel bearing going out yet you insist on driving it. is this a prayer request? ok you might make it, if you don't crash and burn, the tow and out of state repair will be pricey.
no one on a forum can diagnois a noise problem on line. they can give there best guess and if they are wrong they will still be pounding keys tommrow.

Sorry I asked a question. Just thought someone might know, but there is no need to be rude

you call it what you want. if you want my blessing for you to drive a car you know is unsafe forget it
maybe you will make it. maybe the wheel will wooble disabling the front brakes , that should cause some pretty squirely steering too. those are some busy roads you might need it all of it. steering and brakes are two things you never compromise and if you belive i am rude becuase of it i am proud to be rude

RE: Safety question
maybe this thing will help. try checking out automd cause they have this "free online diagnosis". since i don't have any much details about your car, i find it hard to give some conclusion. if ever you need some help of an expert from north carolina, you can also check out from that site which i have mentioned awhile ago for the list of north carolina auto repair shops. hope this helps you.
