2000 Buick Park Ave. front brakes
I'm attempting to change the disc brakes on the front of my 2000 Buick Park Ave. I have removed the bolts that hold the caliper on, but it don't want to come off all the way. Seems like something is holding it. I am thinking that I need to press the caliper in with a "C" clamp to remove some of the pressure. Am I correct, or is there something else that would be holding it? I had a 99 olds and 88 olds that I was use to changing the brakes, but this is the first time on this Park Ave. Thanks for the help.

Place a screwdriver between the pad and caliper iposton and gently apply pressure to the piston. This should allow the caliper to come off.

BEING WAY2OLD IS WHY I NEED HELP FROM YOUNGER MINDS.

Re: 2000 Buick Park Ave. front brakes
Thanks for the reply. I found this out as I pursued. A little experience goes a long way. It will be a whole lot simpler next time. I heard a rubbing sound, so I thought my pads were scraping the rotar. Turns out that wasn't the case. One of the pads on the driver's side was worn down to within 1/4" so I changed them anyway. I checked my back brakes also, and they were fine. Seemed like when I would spin the rotar, there was that scraping noise. I figure it was just the sound against the pad. But anyway the pads were still very good. Thanks for the help Smile
