Any ideas?
This came off of my brother's '04 Silverado. It's a 20 inch wheel.

It was the front right and it exploded as he was straitening out after negotiating a ''clover leaf'' type of on ramp. The tire doesn't seem to have been puctured. He says he was doing about 55 which translates to about 75.He also said it was very loud.

This is what it looks like from the other side.

Glad his ok. Bear in mind this is just an opinion. It appears on the backside that "something" stuck the rim, you can see a dent or crease going inward.Look for a bruise on inside of tire at this point.BTW ,that tread is looking a little low.

When you say ''inward'' you mean towards the hub, right?

That the direction it's bent towards. Away from the tire.

A little low?

Those are his racing slicks. He gets his money's worth. That's for sure.
