Getting my 350 home.
Back in '83 I was 19 years old. I threw a rod in my '69 firebird, (my first car that ran). I found an ad in the paper about some guy who had a newer firebird that was hit from behind and the guy was moving out of state.
I talked to the guy on the phone and he was going to junk the car. My buddy drove me to his house (about 100 miles, one way) and I bought the motor for $250 plus another $50 to pull it for me.
The day before I was to pick up the motor, (which was also two days before the guy was moving), My buddy and his Dodge Ramcharger disappeared. I was going nuts trying to find someone with a truck. Finally, on the day the guy was moving I took my dad's '72 Coupe DeVille down there and put that motor in his trunk. Talk about Lowriding. The rear end was barely off the ground and the front end was floating. The steering was scarey. The only way I knew how to get home was on the freeway. I think I drove about 45 mph all the way home.
....and my father was mad as hell.
Oh. My buddy? He ran into an old girlfriend and ended up in jail for beating up her new boyfriend.

C'mon. Seriously.
Has anyone even heard of someone butting a motor that heavy in the trunk of a car?
I'm talking about a complete motor.
