2001 Ford Taurus front brake ?
Do you have to pack high temp.. grease into the slide bores? The holes that bolt on the calipar( 10 mm bolt top).Or is there teflon inserts? Reason- (cold)If your driving barely touch the brake pedal(while keeping the same pressure) you hear slight squeaking sound. (Hot) No squeak, but if you do the same action when you let of the brake you here the same sounds for a few feet. Works great, stops great, turns great, no clunks in reverse. Springs are in the caliper  I seen the other post. I've checked it all. Please help that squeak drives me crazy. Makes no sound if you rick race and get them hot. Thanks fstf2v

You can use anti-sieze on the pins. I never recommend using grease.

iam with driver...allways use never seize....allot of times that chirp or squeal is a rotor a little out of round and little rust on the rotor with slight pressure on pedal causes a little chirp....try some ceramic pads or an organic(little softer)this might help you out and when you find some non squeakers stick with em....crank.it

Thank you, the car sat around for awhile. Never would of thought of rust. Why did Ford Motor Co. sell a car with all these querks(defects)? Wait, don't tell me. They make billlions on thier fleet accounts. Nice car but, to many misc... problems [smilie=pdt_aaa.gif] . Thanks for your experience, fstf2v

That car I repaired came back to me later complaining of the same exact issue you are. I lube the caliper slide pins and use the bluegoo on the back of the pads when I do brakes, but she hears a squeal right as she comes to a stop. Of course , anytime I'm in the car, it doesn't do it (go figure)

Re: 2001 Ford Taurus front brake ?
It's a shame I had to spend so much time on my car that is just a everyday car. That noise drove me crazy. After asking many questions my friends high school kid solved the problem in class at school. Thank GOD, some teachers still can think and motivate the class. On the Taurus front brake caliper there is a thin (human body shaped) metal strip placed into the caliper. The brake pad springs ride on this metal. The noise I and most eveybody else hears(only sounds when you can't deal with it) comes from that metal. Pull it out clean it or polish it(buffing wheel easy  )spray off caliper then pack on the(kidding). spray off caliper and use very small amount of brake caliper grease on both side of that metal shim do the rest of the brake job-like normal. This should stop that shim from singing. It works gooooood. How good? SUPER GOOD! Thanks guy's. Hopefully this helps somebody else. --- fstf2v
