1999 Chrysler concorde 2.7 DOHC coolant air bleeder
Hey all, my wife's car needs a coolant flush, the problem is that the cooling system air bleeder is frozen up. I tried penetrant etc., & wound up breaking the seat for the bleeder screw loose instead. the whole assy. turns in side the manifold. any ideas? thanks Dirty

I hate those things. Parts stores that carry dorman/motormite sell these
Motormite #48001
Dorman #902-301

hey cranky, yea I thought about that route, but the actual "seat" that the bleeder sits in is turning in the assy. However it looks like gacyota has the answer. I asked at my parts store here, but we never thought to look under the motormite/help section. GO GACYOTA!!!! That'll make this a quick easy job. Thanks again. Dirty

Re: 1999 Chrysler concorde 2.7 DOHC coolant air bleeder
I need to replace the Coolant air bleeder on my 2001 Chrysler concorde. That picture looks exactly like the part.

Those back two bolts look like a pain to get to. The one on the left I think I can reach, but I don't know about the right side. I may have to remove some other parts to get to it. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

TACert

Those back 2 bolts were a pain to get to. I ended up having to loosen the upper intake bolts and popped it loose in order to get tools on the back two bolts. Here's my post about it

Re: 1999 Chrysler concorde 2.7 DOHC coolant air bleeder
Thank you. I was afraid of that. I guess I'll go ahead in take the upper intake cover off. I am still waiting for the part to come in. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend.

The reason I am replacing it is because the part has a small coolent leak around the seam. It is not much, but I am afraid it may bust under pressure.

Re: 1999 Chrysler concorde 2.7 DOHC coolant air bleeder
I have not gotten the new part in, but I went ahead and removed the old part. What a pain it was for something that should been simple, but part of that was my fault.

I took all the bolts out of the manifold cover and popped it up. I was doing fine remove the bolts off the coolant air bleeder, until I got to that back right bolt. At that point, my socket separated from the extender and fell into the manifold air intake. I tried for an hour to get it out, but nothing I had would reach. So I went to Lowes and got one of those flexible grabbers. That got it out.

Getting the plastic pipe piece out of the coolant air bleeder was a little tricky. There wasn't much room to move it.

These engineers, that design these engines, do not have maintenance in mind when they do it.

I am supposed to get the new part in on Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully it will go in okay.

Did you put any kind of sealer or gasket between the coolant air bleeder and the engine?

you dont have to use a silicone for installation. I like to put a small bead on the gasket just in case though.

Re: 1999 Chrysler concorde 2.7 DOHC coolant air bleeder
I got the new part in and there are no leaks. however, the engine is running rough and I am getting the codes PO201 Injector Ciruit Open - Cylinder 1 and code PO340 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor). I am thinking when I reconnected the intake manafold cover i missed connecting something. But I can't find anything that looks disconnected.

make sure that the intake gasket seated properly when you put it back together

Thank you,

I figure I screwed up something when I put the intake manifold cover back on. I am going through chemo right now, and I just don't have the strength or energy to work on the car, so I think I am going to take it in. I hate taking it in over something so simple, but I need the car to work.
