First engine i ever rebuilt. When i disassembled it threw all the pushrods in a box, not really knowing about the different lengths, while putting it back together couldnt tighten some of them down because they were too long. So what did I do! I ground down the ones that were too long and put them in. It ran fine just a little noisy cause the other ones were too short!
i replaced a clutch in a old Corvair once down couldnt get it out of gear with it running. I put the clutch in backwards
last but not least swapped 3.8 motors in a delta 88, went to fire it up and wouldnt start unless i shot ether in it. My neighbor heard the cussing and tools flying came over to see what was wrong.
He said sounds like its outta gas, I said no way! but you guessed it was out. drove it with no exhaust on it and put my last 5 bucks in it. But no i swapped it cause it overrheated and cracked the block. It overheated because i changed water pump two days previously and didnt "burp"it.You live and learn (hopefully)
